Early Voting in North Carolina Is Happening Now

Early voting in North Carolina runs from Thursday, February 12th through Saturday, February 28th

*If you missed the voter registration deadline, you can still register and vote on the same day during the early voting period.*

Key Dates

  • Thursday, February 12 – Early Voting Begins (8:00 AM)

  • Saturday, February 28 – Early Voting Ends (3:00 PM)

  • Tuesday, March 3 – Primary Election Day

 

What You Need to Know to Vote Early

Find Your Early Voting Site

 

You can vote at any early voting site in your county (unlike Election Day). Most locations are open 8:00 AM – 7:30 PM on weekdays, though hours may vary.

Same-Day Registration (Available During Early Voting)

If you missed the February 6 registration deadline, you can still register and vote during early voting (Feb 12–28).

 

You’ll need:

  • Proof of residence (utility bill, bank statement, or government document)

  • A valid photo ID

Bring a Photo ID

 

North Carolina requires a photo ID to vote. Most voters use a driver’s license, but other IDs are accepted.
